Christopher Jourdan, featured on FOX Business, co-founded the fastest growing Wireless Zone franchise, HSL Inc., and is a leading expert in the wireless industry. Chris is a leadership coach, professional speaker, freelance writer, marketing guru and small business consultant. A community philanthropist, Give Back Day, began during the first year following HSL’s inception and is going viral, bringing communities together throughout the Midwest.
Chris began his wireless career as a sales consultant while attending the Fisher School of Business at The Ohio State University. Instantly a top performer, he quickly was promoted into management with RadioShack, responsible for a 5 store territory in Indianapolis, Indiana. Within 6 months, his team in Indianapolis became the #1 territory in the nation and Chris moved up again, this time to a District Manager role, taking over a struggling 12 store district in Michigan. Prior to his arrival, the Michigan district was ranked 37 out of 38 in the nation; 90 days later, they were #1 in the midwest and #2 in the nation. Continuing his rapid advancement up the corporate ladder, after only 8 months in Michigan, Chris recruited and developed his replacement and was once again promoted; this time to the prestigious Chicago district. Responsible for 19 locations, the district showed unprecedented sales and profit gains and his Cicero and Evanston locations became the #1 and #3 locations in the nation.
In 2007, Chris and his wife, Lindsay, moved their family back to central Ohio and he left RadioShack for an opportunity as a Business Sales Manager with Verizon Wireless. Chris led a team of 13 business sales representatives calling on Major Accounts (500+ employees), once again his team produced instant results second to none in the area. With another sales team built and on auto-pilot, Chris left Verizon Wireless and accepted an executive role with a Verizon Wireless Retailer in Columbus. As a Director of Development, Chris built a business sales division that was generating $100,000 in incremental revenue on a monthly basis after only 6 months. He also improved the company’s entire infrastructure, from employee handbook to new hire training and ongoing education programs. Also responsible for growth, Chris attracted investors who opened some of the top performing locations in the company. In less than a year, Chris helped this organization grow from 40 locations to over 50 in addition to increasing same store sales.
In November, 2008, at the onset of the worst economic recession of our lives, Chris walked away from his 6-figure corporate salary to go into business for himself. Chris co-founded HSL Inc. and opened 3 Wireless Zone locations in Southern Indiana/Western Kentucky. Accustomed to the unprecedented, Chris proceeded to open 6 more locations in the next 10 months, driving growth that had never been seen from a franchise in the 20+ years that Wireless Zone has been in business.
